Adaline Paul Loucks

Adaline Paul Loucks of  Ellenville ,  NY, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at the Mt. View Nursing Home in New Paltz at the age of 99. She was born on August 10, 1916 in  Yonkers, the daughter of the late Edward and Emma (Rittinger) Paul. She was married to Sherman Bain Loucks for 48 years  until he died on March 19, 1988.

Adaline was a life member of the Wawarsing Chapter #253 Order of the Eastern Star, honorary member of the Shawangunk Garden Club, Ellenville Regional Hospital Auxiliary Board Member and former chairperson of the gift shop, volunteering there until the age of 93, member of St. John’s Memorial Episcopal Church, former member of Cape Pond, she assisted for over 50 years with the family business Loucks Funeral Home, Inc. and was an accomplished seamstress. Her love of knitting allowed her to make something special for all her friends and family whom she loved so much.

Adaline will be missed dearly by her sons, Nelson P. Loucks and his wife Sherry of Nantucket, MA and Allan L. Loucks and his wife Kathleen A. of Ellenville , NY .  Grandchildren; Michael (Debbie) Loucks, Andrea (Katie) Hemstreet, Bain (Therese) Loucks, Sean (Kacie) Loucks, Christina (Jorge) Ahumada, Stephanie (Jeffery A. Lowe) Loucks, and Debra (Jon) Arist. Great Grandchildren; Samantha, Madelyn, Noah, Chloe, Mila and Hannah. Great Great granddaughter Makenzie: Her sister Geraldine Gueovjian of Islip , NY and several nephews, great nephews and nieces.

Visiting will be held on Thursday, November 12th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 N. Main St., Ellenville, NY. A Celebration of her life will be on Friday the 13th at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will be in The Fantinekill Cemetery, Ellenville.

The family requests memorial donations be made in Adaline’s name to the  Wawarsing Chapter #253, Order of the Eastern Star, c/o Mrs. Eileen Moore, P. O. Box 254, Napanoch, NY 12458, a charity of ones choice, or volunteer to assist someone.
