Carmen Iris Dejesus

Carmen Iris Dejesus of Ellenville, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 3, 2017. She was 43 years old. Carmen was born on May 22, 1973 in the Dominican Republic; she was the daughter of Mario and Julia (Caba) Hernandez

Carmen had worked as a Home Health Aid for Community Health Aide Services of Spring Valley and also for Brenner Income Tax in Ellenville. She was an advocate for the Ellenville Police Department and would donate to them often. She was the loving mother of Eonice and Aiyanna Dejesus.

Carmen was predeceased by her infant son Mason Aurelius Vargas in June 2016.

In addition to her parents and her daughters, Carmen is survived by her companion Daniel Vargas as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visiting will be held on Friday, January 13th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 N. Main St., Ellenville, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 14th  at 10 am at St. Mary and St. Andrews Church. Burial will follow at Fantinekill Cemetery.
