Catherine Bishuk of Ulster Heights, NY passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2026. She was 89 years old. Catherine was born on March 22, 1937 in New York City, the daughter of John and Mary Paraschuk. She would later settle in Ulster Heights, NY with her husband, Daniel, in 1970.

Catherine will forever be remembered for her tireless promotion of the Ukrainian culture through her years of advocacy as one of the country's premier practitioners of the art of Ukrainian egg decoration known as 'pysanky.' She worked for many years in the Village of Ellenville at Marvin Millwork, and later, Craft Chiropractic.

Catherine is survived by her two loving sons, John and Daniel Jr.

Visitation will take place at Loucks Funeral Home -- 79 North Main St. in Ellenville NY from 4-8 PM on Monday, May 11. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 12th at Loucks Funeral Home at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Pine Bush Cemetery in Kerhonkson, NY, where she will be laid to eternal rest beside her loving husband, Daniel.
