Charles William Pomeroy

Charles William Pomeroy, of Ellenville, NY, formerly of Kerhonkson passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Hospital. Fondly known as “Bill” to so many he was 74 years old. Bill was born on September 12, 1943 in Ellenville; the son of the late Edsel and Ruth (Potter) Pomeroy.

Bill had worked for many years as the foreman of the grinding room and later years as the shipping and receiving clerk for Imperial Schrade Cutlery. Bill was an avid Yankees fan. In his younger years he volunteered with the Indian Valley Little League, whether it was coaching, offering his guidance or watching from the stands. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents Bill was predeceased by his wife Patricia Pomeroy; his brother, Thomas Pomeroy and his sisters, Beverly Meade, Maryetta Cathcart and Janice Ryan.

He is survived by his children, Kareen Donohue and her husband Paul, Darrell Pomeroy, Jess Pomeroy and his wife Melissa, Jenni Smith and her husband Keith and William Joseph Pomeroy; his brothers, Donald Pomeroy, Edsel Pomeroy Jr. and his wife Lois, Joseph Pomeroy and his wife Kathy, Jon Pomeroy and his wife Carol; his sister, Carol Shamro; nine grandchildren, Kassandra and her husband Brandon, Paul and his wife Tabetha, Ian, Dillan, Hayley, Cassandra, Faith, Guin and Charlotte; two great grandchildren, Darrin and Kelsi; a special friend of the family Barbara Waite as well as many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 29th from 12-3 pm at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 North Main St. Ellenville. Cremation will be private.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Bill’s name to a charity of one’s choice.
