Clara K. Smith

November 1, 1913 — April 13, 2017

Clara K. Smith of Kingston, NY formerly of Napanoch, NY passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the age of 103. Clara was born on November 1, 1913 in Grahamsville, NY; she was the daughter of Howard and Phoebe (Sheeley) Knight.

Clara enjoyed sewing and reading. She had worked as a seamstress in her younger years and helped her husband with the farm but was most proud to be a homemaker.

She was predeceased by her husband Laurence Smith whom she married on April 30, 1937, as well as her son Larry Smith, her four sisters, one brother and granddaughter Denise Smith.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Betty Lively-Miller and her husband Wayne of Accord; grandsons, Kenneth Smith of Napanoch and Ed Smith of Thompsonville; great grandchildren, Kristin McMillan and Robert Smith; great great grandsons, Jayson and Josiah McMillan; daughter-in-law, Jane Smith of Napanoch; several nephews and nieces including Susan Paddock of Boise, ID and many dear friends.

Visiting will be held on Wednesday, April 19th from 11am to 1pm at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 N. Main St., Ellenville, with a celebration of her life beginning at 1pm. Burial will follow at Grahamsville Rural Cemetery.

All are invited to join Clara’s family for refreshments at the Grahamsville United Methodist Church Hall following her burial.
