DIANNE ELIZABETH (WOOD) TURNER

June 6, 1947 - February 1, 2018

Ellenville, NY

She was the eldest daughter of Raymond and Dorothy (Felton) Wood; born June 6, 1947 in Middletown, NY. She spent many years in various professions including raising and training champion Arabian horses as well as Working on the classifieds at the TH-Record and The Trentonian newspaper. She owned and ran WAGS pet store in Ellenville for over 10 years. Most recently, she was the secretary for the Ellenville/Wawarsing Chamber of Commerce. In her spare time, she participated in many community activities including the Summitville Ladies Auxiliary and the food pantry of the Wurtsboro church. She was the driving force behind The Ellenville Blueberry Festival, since its inception. She enjoyed going to church, and spending time with her family and dogs.

She is predeceased by both her parents, her only brother, Raymond “Skippy” Wood and her only son, Brian Turner. She is survived by her only granddaughter, Justine Turner and daughter-in-law, Sandi Turner, both of Phillipsport, NY; her sisters, Barbara Wood of Accord, NY, Ellen (James) Ficurilli, Beverly Terraciano and Kay Lobo; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Special thanks to the staff at Ellenville Regional Hospital for the extra time and care in Dianne’s final days.

Visitation will be held at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 N. Main St., Ellenville, NY 12428, on February 8 from 11 a.m. to 3p.m. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. A private family burial will be in the spring.
