Dorothy A. Dawson-Wright

Dorothy Ann Dawson-Wright of Ellenville, NY, a homemaker and mother of 7, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 1, 2015. She was 85 years old. Dorothy was born on March 5, 1929 in Newburgh, NY; she was the daughter of the late Asa and Elizabeth Tubbs.

She was a member of the Methodist Church of Ellenville as well as the Pioneer Engine Co. Ladies Auxiliary. Dorothy enjoyed flowers, doing word puzzles, crocheting, shopping and going out to dinner. She was a former mail carrier for the Ellenville Post Office.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Elizabeth (Betty) Quick and husband Larry of Napanoch, NY, Tom Dawson of Ellenville, Barbara Doolittle and husband Glen of Ellenville, Pat Murdock and husband Alan of Ellenville, Carol Pratt and husband Kim of Virginia, Billy Dawson and wife Ana of Florida, Tammy Avery and husband Tony of Ellenville; sisters, Elsie Bedell, Edna Bruno, Margaret Prokosch and brother Billy Tubbs; 23 Grandchildren; 31 Great-Grandchildren

She was predeceased by her husband William A. Dawson and brothers Richard and George Tubbs.

Visiting will be held Thursday, March 5^th from 7-9 pm and Friday March 6^th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Celebration of her life is scheduled for Saturday at 2pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the spring at Fantinekill Cemetery.

There will be a gathering following Dorothy’s services at the Pioneer Engine Co. Hall in Ellenville.
