Edwin “Skip” Forest Murdock, Jr. passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at Garnet Health Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was 87 years old. Edwin was the son of Edwin Forest Murdock, Sr. and Theresa (Smith) Murdock born on April 15, 1939, in Suffern, NY.

He is survived by Linda (Lowe) Murdock, his loving wife of 38 years; his children, Nancy Murdock, Timothy Murdock and his wife, Christine, Daniel Murdock and his wife, Yumiko, Allen Blades and his wife, Joyce, and Amie Alexander and her husband, Michael; his grandchildren, Christopher Murdock and his wife, Emily, Matthew Murdock, Zachary Alexander, and Ethan Alexander; and his great-grandson, Henry Murdock. He is also survived by his sister, Janet Whitehead, and several nieces and nephews.

Edwin proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1961 to 1966. He was later employed by the Town of Ramapo as a patrol man for over 30 years. He was an active member of the Ellenville Reformed Church, a lifetime member of Hillcrest Fire Company #1, and a lifetime member of the Wawarsing Rod and Gun Club, and longtime member of the Masonic Lodge 582.

Family will receive friends at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 North Main Street, Ellenville, NY 12428, on Monday, October 19, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Hillcrest Fire Company #1 will hold a Firematic Service at Loucks Funeral Home on October 19, 2026, beginning at 7:30 PM.

The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 20th at Ellenville Reformed Church,188 Canal Street, Ellenville, NY 12428 at 11:00 AM.

The burial will follow the services at the church and take place at Fantinekill Cemetery; where military honors will be held.

A luncheon will follow the burial at Ellenville Reformed Church, 188 Canal Street, Ellenville, NY 12428.
