Irving Buley

Grahamsville

Irving Buley, a longtime resident of Grahamsville, NY passed away on August 2, 2025 at Sunset Nursing Home in Liberty, NY. Irv was born on March 5, 1941 in Kingston, NY. 

He was the beloved son of the late Harold E. Buley, Sr. and Kathleen (Phillips) Buley. As a teenager, Irv worked on Ackerley's Dairy Farm in Grahamsville, New York. He then went on to become a laborer on the Town of Neversink Highway Department where he worked until he retired. Irv loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter as well as an enthusiastic angler. He was a member of the Federation of Sportsmen Club of Sullivan County and the Grahamsville Rod and Gun Club. He participated in many of their evevts including the Youth Expo. He loved to see the youth of the community learn about the outdoors.

 Irving leaves behind to cherish his memory his three children, Laura Buley Entenmann of Swan Lake, NY, Eugene Buley of Huntsville, TX and Michelle Buley Slegona of Kerhonkson, NY. He also has three stepchildren, Lorinda Schmidt of Grahamsville, Butch Decker of Florida, and Edith Barnes of Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his siblings Beverly Roebuck, Louise Clark, Bruce Buley and Roger Buley. He has many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Joan, his father and mother, Harold and Kathleen Buley. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings Arnold Buley, Barbara Chase, Linda Moore, Barry Buley, Harold Buley, Jr. and Gloria Reed. A

 “Celebration of Life” gathering will be held at the Grahamsville Firehouse on Saturday, August 9, 2025 from 12 noon until 4:00 pm for Irv's family and friends.
