James Horvath, Jr.

James Horvath, Jr. of Kerhonkson, NY and formerly Ellenville, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. He was 49 years old. James was born on March 3, 1964 in Kingston, NY; he was the son of Sandra (Tuttle) Horvath of Bloomingburg and James Horvath, Sr. of Wawarsing.

Mr. Horvath was a self employed contractor who worked in Ellenville and the surrounding areas. He was a huge sports fan. James enjoyed bowling, playing golf, watching NASCAR and basketball.

On July 9, 2006 he married the former Johanna Gonzalez in Napanoch.

In addition to his parents and his wife Johanna of Kerhonkson, James is survived by his children James Horvath III and his wife Alysa of Wawarsing, Kayla Horvath of Ellenville Alexus Gonzalez and Gavin Horvath of Kerhonkson, his step-daughter Jacqueline Zelinsky and her husband Brian of Napanoch, his sisters Crystal Bruce of Hawaii, Deborah Baul and her husband Howard of Kerhonkson, Kathleen Horvath of Tillson, his brother Richard Horvath and his wife Angel of Ellenville and five grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will be receiving friends Wednesday, April 10^th from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 North Main Street, Ellenville, NY. A celebration of Jim’s life is scheduled for Thursday at 1pm at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.
