James R. Smith

James R. Smith, 78, of Kerhonkson, NY died Saturday, December 1, 2012 peacefully at home with his family.  Born on December 7, 1933, in Ellenville NY; he was the son of the late Arthur and Arlene Smith. 

Jim and his family were lifelong residents to this area.  Jim was employed by Friehofer’s for thirty years, he retired in 1996.  He belonged to the Wawarsing Rod and Gun Club and in his younger years was an avid shooter with his brothers Gene and Art. 

He is survived by his wife Cathy Smith of Ellenville, daughters; Heather Smith of Accord, Rhonda Tompkins of Cairo, Jamie Allen of Hurley, Denise Rothberg of Kerhonkson, son Michael Smith of Accord, grandchildren; Gavin O'Riley of  Accord, R.J Allen of Kerhonkson and Robert Allen of Hurley.

He was predeceased by his two brothers Art and Gene Smith.

Memorial visitation will be held for Jim Saturday December 15, 2012 from 4-6 pm with a celebration of his life beginning at 5:30 at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 N. Main St., Ellenville.
