Joseph Harper Batty, Jr.

Joseph Harper Batty, Jr. of Olivebridge, NY died on Friday, March 28, 2014. He was 84 years old. Joseph was born on October 24, 1929 in Astoria, NY; he was the son of Joseph and Frances (McMullen) Batty.

Mr. Batty served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. For many years he had been a statistical analyst for different insurance companies in Manhattan. He had married Harriet Thomas on June 11, 1955 and they lived in Astoria before more recently living in Olivebridge, NY. Joseph enjoyed playing the piano and it meant a lot to him that he was a free and accepted mason for over 60 years.

 
Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Harriet Batty. Joseph was predeceased by his twin brother William and his sister Nancy Swedberg.

Visiting will be held on Tuesday, April 1^st from 10am – 11am at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 N. Main St., Ellenville, NY. Funeral Services will immediately follow at 11am at the funeral home. A graveside service is scheduled for Wednesday April 16^th at Nassau Knolls Cemetery.
