Julia E. Ellsworth

Julia Bennett Ellsworth, “Judy”, a resident of Achieve Nursing and Rehabilitation for the past six years and a lifelong resident of the Ellenville area passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2016. She was 95 years old. Julia was born on June 4, 1920 in Ulster Heights; she was the daughter of Walter and Katheryn (Fahey) Bennett and the widow of William Henry Ellsworth.

Julia was born and raised on her family’s farm in Ulster Heights. She attended a one room schoolhouse close to home and later Ellenville High School. Julia had worked as a saleslady at Jamesway in Napanoch. She married William Henry Ellsworth on April 3, 1942. Julia was a past member of the United Methodist Women of the Ulster Heights United Methodist Church and a former member of the Ulster Heights Rod and Gun Club Auxiliary.

Julia is survived by her sons, William Ellsworth of Ulster Heights and Gary Ellsworth of Spring Glen; her daughter, Kathy Ellsworth and her partner Kenneth Warg Sr., of Ulster Heights, her special nephew Kerry Avery and his wife Teena as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

 Julia was predeceased by her sister Helen Avery and her brother Walter Bennett.

The family would like to thank the staff at Achieve especially the activity department for the care and attention they provided to Julia.

Visiting will be held on Tuesday, April 12th from 11 am to 1 pm with a celebration of her life immediately following at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 N. Main St., Ellenville. Burial will follow at Pine Bush Cemetery, Kerhonkson
