Obituary

Kai William Lake passed away November 3, 2026, at the age of 68.

Kai was born in Ellenville NY to Andrew and Mildred Lake. He worked for Spectrum for 36 years as a warehouse / fleet manager. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and a man who knew how to make people laugh. He lived life in his own way and left behind countless memories that will be cherished forever. He found happiness in the simple things: stand-up comedy, splitting firewood, spending time at the casino with his wife Cathy, horse racing, NASCAR, and dirt track races. He was a hardworking man with a good sense of humor and a knack for coming up with a one-liner at just the right moment. Whether he was making someone laugh, sharing a story, or simply being himself, he had a way of making an impression that people wouldn't forget.

Above all, he was a family man. He shared 48 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Cathy. They have been together since 1974 for a total of 52 years. Together, they built a lifetime of memories filled with love, laughter, and companionship. His greatest legacy will always be the family he loved so dearly.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Cathy Lake; his daughter, Lindsey Di Napoli and her husband, Billy Di Napoli of Monticello, NY; his son, Corey Lake and his wife, Melissa Lake of Napanoch, NY; his beloved grandchildren: Alyssa Lake, Mason Warner, Winter Warner, Isaiah Di Napoli, and Sesaly Di Napoli. He is also survived by his brother, Joe Lake and his wife Sue, of Palm Coast, FL. Kai was predeceased by his father, Andrew; his mother, Mildred; and sister, Marylou.

At this time Kai's family has chosen to celebrate his life privately.
