Kirt Barr Hammel

Kirt Barr Hammel of Ellenville, NY, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016 at Orange Regional Hospital. He was 51 years old. Kirt was born on August 27, 1965 in Ellenville, NY; he was the son of the late Stewart Hammel and Grace Rita (Dowling) Carlew.

Kirt was a loving and devoted father. He will be deeply missed by his fiancé, Alicia Hemion and their children Gage Isaiah and Kamy’ryn Grace Hammel, his best friend, Andrea VanLeuven and their children Justin Barr and Jenah Marie Hammel all of Ellenville; his siblings, George Hammel of Ellenville, Brenda Anderson of Washington, Terri Minuck of Napanoch, Debra Carlew of North Carolina, Patricia Neville of New Jersey, Barbara-Anne Aguero of Cragsmoor, Conway Hammel of Napanoch, Iris Hammel of Kingston and Donna LaCroix of Kerhonkson, his grandson Javanni Kirt Hammel as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents Kirt was predeceased by his daughter Grace.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 19th from 10am to 12pm with a celebration of his life beginning at 11:30am at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 N. Main St., Ellenville. Cremation will be private.
