Richard

Fantinekill Cemetery
10:00 - 10:30 am (Eastern time)
Lorraine Richard, of Napanoch, New York, passed away peacefully at home on May 25, 2026, at the age of 97.
Born on September 25, 1928, in Krumville, New York, Lorraine lived a life rooted in love, loyalty, hard work, and an appreciation for the simple joys of life. She was deeply devoted to her husband, Karl Richard, who predeceased her in August 2011. Together, they shared a loving partnership built on companionship and mutual devotion.
Lorraine and Karl enjoyed spending time together in the ways that meant the most to them. They looked forward to their morning coffee conversations at McDonald's with friends in Ellenville, long drives through the countryside, tending their gardens, maintaining their property, and relaxing together with a cold beer at the end of the day. Their love was evident in the life they built together and the countless memories they shared.
A true lover of nature, Lorraine found great joy in the beauty that surrounded her. She especially enjoyed feeding and watching the birds that visited her yard each day. Whether tending her flowers, enjoying the changing seasons, or observing wildlife from her window, Lorraine appreciated the peace and comfort that nature provided.
She believed family extended beyond blood relations and cherished the friendships that became lifelong bonds. Over the years, Lorraine and Karl were blessed with many neighbors and friends whom they considered family, whose friendship and companionship enriched her life.
Lorraine leaves behind a legacy of kindness, friendship, and devotion. She will be remembered for her welcoming presence, her love of nature, her dedication to those around her, and her ability to find happiness in life's simplest moments.
Though Lorraine has now been reunited with Karl, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who offered Lorraine friendship, care, and companionship throughout the years. Her life was made richer by the many people who became part of her extended family.
May she rest in peace, reunited once again with the love of her life.
Internment will take place at Fantinekill Cemetery on June 2, 2026, at 10:00 AM.
On behalf of Loucks Funeral Home, we extend our deepest gratitude to the loved ones who have shared in remembering and honoring Lorraine. It has been our sincere privilege to walk beside you during this difficult time, and we thank you for the trust you have placed in our care. May the love surrounding you bring comfort and may the cherished memories you hold bring peace in the days ahead.
