Louise Grace Mapes

Louise Grace Mapes, of Phillipsport NY, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2022 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her daughters. She was 83 years old. Louise was born on October 1, 1938 at her family’s home in Spring Valley, NY; she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Grace (Miller) Pitt.

 

Louise was a member of the Ellenville Reformed Church where she was also a Deacon and an Elder. She was also a member of the Summitville Ladies Auxiliary. Louise enjoyed gardening, playing piano and soaking up the sun. Louise was a homemaker and dedicated caregiver not only to her children, but to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she adored. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her children, Daniel Toth, Louis Toth and his wife Lisa, Irene Puccio and her husband Tony, Glen Mapes and his wife Ruth, Marlene Miccolis and her husband Garry, Kevin Mapes and his wife Dorothy, Randy Mapes and his wife Karen and Sarah Powell and her husband Shawn; brother-in-law, Richard King; twenty-four grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

 

Louise was predeceased by her first husband, Louis Toth, her second husband, Otis Mapes; her sister, Flora King and her brother, Sterling Pitt and his wife Joy.

 

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, May 7th at the Ellenville Reformed Church, 188 Canal St., Ellenville.
