It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Marceline “Marcy” Ann Castro. Although her time on this planet was cut short, Marcy leaves behind a legacy of love, courage, and strength—a legacy that her family will carry with them always.

Marcy was born on March 18, 1970, in Nyack, NY, to her parents, Claudia Gooler and Marcelo Alvarez Sr. She grew up in Haverstraw, NY, and later made her home in Ellenville, NY.

She married her soulmate, Bany Castro, on October 25, 1996. They had been together since 1982, and anyone around them could see how much they meant to each other.

Marcy was a phenomenal woman with a beautiful heart and a bright soul. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, and aunt—but she was also a mother figure to anyone who needed one.

Through her work as a daycare provider, she helped raise so many children, loving them like her own and taking pride in watching them grow.

Marcy welcomed people with open arms—friends and family alike. Her door was always open, and her phone was always on. If you knew Marcy, then you knew love. Her home became a home for so many: food if you were hungry, a hug if you needed one, a conversation when you were hurting, or simply a warm place to lay your head. From her children’s friends to her nieces and nephews, she treated everyone like they belonged.

Marcy leaves behind, for now; her children: Jason, Micheal, and Jocelyn; daughter-in-law Alexa; son-in-law Rick; and the boys she loved as much as her own, AJ and Jakub.

Her grandchildren: Grayson, Landon, Ava, and Myah.

Her paternal siblings: Marcelo, Neil, Tiffany, and Marcelo Faulk.

Her sisters-in-law: Samantha, Carolyn, Keri, and Kayla; her brothers-in-law: David, Noel, Kevin, Henry, and Eddie; and her beloved sisterhood: Jessica, Kellie, and Caryn.

Her loving family: Tammy, Mike, Venus, JR, Aunt Skeeter, Troy, Pops, and Sherrie.

Nieces and nephews: Mikaylah, Alex, Isabella, Sabrina/Dan, Anthony/Christina, David, Michelle/Doug, David, Eddie/Lexii, Celines/Greg, Maggie/Michael, Raymond, Adreana/Josh, Anthony Jr., Camden, Eve, Ivy, Star, Jaden, Joshua, Keren, Ryan, Landon, Rylee, Logan, Olivia, Richie, Matthew, Savanna, Alexandra, Camila, Brigid, Bryant, Noel, Arina, Kameron, Karmine, Kaylee, Jamielynn, and Emma.

Her fur babies: Kane Kane, Lo Lo, and Sancez.

Marcy has been reunited with her beloved son, Anthony Castro and her dear parents, Marcelo Alavrez, Sr. and Claudia Gooler.

Marcy will be missed by many and be loved for even longer.

If you wish to pay your love and respects, a memorial service will take place on Sunday, April 12th, 2026, at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 North Main Street, Ellenville, NY 12428.

A celebration of life will follow and take place at the Napanoch Fire House, 25 Plank Road, Napanoch, NY 12458, beginning at 3:30 PM.
