Mark Quimby Johnson, 72 years old and a lifelong resident of Napanoch, passed away peacefully at home on August 20, 2023, with his best friend and caregiver Patricia McKay by his side.

Born on August 19, 1951, in Ellenville, New York, he was the son of Anne (Wincek) Johnson of Napanoch, New York, and the late Robert Leo Johnson of Napanoch, NY.

Mark attended the Ellenville School District and was employed at Schrade Cutlery in Ellenville until he was drafted in 1970.  Mark served as an Army Military Policeman in Vietnam. After his service he was self employed as a mason, an excavator, and construction worker.

Over the years Mark had many talents.  He was a skilled auto mechanic, built his own stock car(#747), and raced it at the Accord Speedway.  He was also an avid deer hunter.  In his retirement Mark loved to ride his motorcycle, work on restoring his antique vehicles, and visiting his children, grandchildren and his dear friend AnnMarie Heath in South Carolina where he made many lasting memories.

Johnson (Tatiana) of Colorado, Michelle (Johnson) Burris of South Carolina, Jesse Johnson of North Carolina, and Jessica Johnson of South Carolina; his companion Patricia McKay of Napanoch, NY; his siblings, David Johnson (Monica) of Ellenville, NY, Christine Tobin (John) of New Paltz, NY, and Jeanne Englert (Jeffrey) of Poughkeepsie, NY; and eleven grandchildren, many nieces/nephews, and friends.
