Monique Dupree Smalls

Monique Dupree Smalls, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away on September 11, 2023. Born on October 19, 1964, in Brooklyn, NY to James Small and Frances Gay Smalls, Monique brought joy and love to the lives of everyone she encountered. Her departure from this world leaves behind a void that can never be filled. 

Monique dedicated her life to being a stay-at-home mom, caring for her family with unwavering dedication and selflessness. Her role as a mother extended beyond her own children; she was a mom to everyone she met. Monique's nurturing nature knew no bounds as she opened her heart and home to countless individuals who sought comfort and guidance.

In her younger years, Monique enjoyed roller skating and dancing. As life progressed, Monique discovered solace in simpler activities such as playing cards with loved ones and showcasing her culinary skills in the kitchen. Her dishes were not only delightful but also reflected the warmth and love with which they were prepared.

In addition to her parents, Monique was predeceased by her husband Wardell Jackson and her siblings, Montique Smalls and Malachi Smalls.

Monique is survived by her cherished children: Nakeema Hogue and her husband Thalmus, Movonney Eli (aka Emily Medley) and her husband Jerry, Diamond Jackson, Karizma Jackson, Denzel Jackson, and Nazel Jackson.

Monique's legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Rezijah, Dam'ani, Jah'leel, Amir, Julvonnie, JayVon, Lavell, Yafah, Camari, Kam, Malachi, Ma'Kyla and Jaxon. She was a doting grandmother who showered her grandchildren with love and imparted wisdom at every opportunity. Monique was a loving aunt to a host of nieces and nephews.

She also leaves behind her dear sister: Mona Smalls, who shared a special bond with Monique. They experienced life's ups and downs together and provided each other with unwavering support.

Monique Dupree Smalls touched the lives of many individuals throughout her journey. Her kindness, compassion, and nurturing spirit will forever be remembered. She had the uncanny ability to make others feel loved and cherished, always ensuring their happiness came first. Monique's legacy will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Although we mourn her loss deeply, let us also celebrate the life she led and the impact she made on so many. Monique Dupree Smalls will forever remain a guardian angel watching over us, guiding us with her love and nurturing spirit. May she rest in eternal peace.
