Patricia "Pat" Althouse

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia “Pat” Althouse age 84 of Napanoch, New York. She passed away on December 17, 2025, at the Care Center at Sunset Lake in Liberty, New York. Pat was born in Trenton, New Jersey on January 22, 1941 to Vincent Ambrose and Laura Williams. She is survived by her husband Roy Althouse whom she was married to on June 21, 1975.

Pat worked in bookkeeping for the majority of her adult life, which she picked up after a couple of years in college. She worked at Gillette Oil, Berger and Solomon Insurance Company, the Town of Wawarsing, and most recently Ellenville Regional Hospital. She was a lover of animals, especially dogs, and she devoted countless hours and years to the Napanoch Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, where she was honored multiple times as Auxiliary Woman of the Year. Additionally, she managed the books for the Town of Wawarsing Knife Museum.

In addition to her husband Pat leaves behind three sons, and one stepdaughter. Bob Rue and his wife Trisha Rue, Michael Pasko, Phil Althouse and his partner Jennifer Davis Mirmelstein, and Nina Cox. Pat also had three grandchildren who she loved dearly. Samantha Rue and her partner Jesse Janas, Jonah Althouse, and Norah Althouse. She also leaves behind a brother Steven Caponey, several nieces and nephews, and she is predeceased by her sister Sandra Cruz.

A visitation will be held at Loucks Funeral Home 79 N. Main St. Ellenville, NY on Sunday, December 28 from 4-7 pm, which will include a firematic service which will begin at 6:30. Funeral service will be help on December 29, at 10:30am at the funeral home with burial to follow in Fantinekill Cemetery Route 209 Ellenville. 

Pat’s life was filled with love for family, friends and co-workers. Her wishes were for everyone to know how blessed she was to have shared her journey of life with all of you. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ellenville Regional Hospital, or the Care Center at Sunset Lake.
