Philip Van Demark

Philip Van Demark, a lifetime area of resident, passed away on October 31, 2025, in Vassar Brothers hospital in Poughkeepsie at the age of 86.

He was born on November 27, 1938, in Kerhonkson, NY the son of Edward and Grace Grey Van Demark. He worked as a supervisor at Schrade Company in Ellenville, NY. Phillip was a former caretaker of the Fantinekill Cemetery in Ellenville for many years. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Philip is survived by his wife, Sandra Smith Van Demark at home in Napanoch; his daughter, Terri and her husband Glen Blaunstein; one grandson, Matt and his wife and their two children; and his sister, Shirley Avery. He also survived by his faithful companion, his dog Toby, who he took with him everywhere.

He was predeceased by his brother, John Van Demark; and his granddaughter, Cori .
