REGINA "JEAN" CRAFT

Jean Craft, 87 of Ellenville, NY passed away peacefully in her sleep, Sunday, August 7, 2016. She was born in Middletown, NY to Michael and Gertrude McAuliffe (Bollin) of Kerhonkson, NY. She graduated from Kerhonkson High School and SUNY at Brockport. She married the late Charles E. Craft in 1951.

Jean was the Director of Social Services for the Town of Wawarsing for over 50 years. She also worked for the Ellenville Central School since 1985. She officially retired in 2010, but never really stopped working. Mrs. Craft was the very first recipient of the Ellenville’s Noonday Club’s Citizen of the Year Award in 1962. She volunteered her spare time to the local chapter of Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts and the American Red Cross. She enjoyed spending time with her family at their summer camp in Lake George. She always watched her grandchildren in the many sporting events they had.

Jean is survived by her children: Patty (Mark) Steinhoff, Michael Craft, Charles Jr. (Cindy) Craft, Mary (Tony) Borriello, and Paul (Stephanie) Craft, all of Ellenville; and her brother Joseph McAuliffe of Wisconsin. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Brooke (Izzy Pimentel), Stephen and Kelly Craft; Kim, Sarah, and JoAnna Craft; AJ, Robert and Danielle Borriello; Abbe and Carly Craft; and great grandson, Ezra Pimentel. She also considered the Elias family as her own. Jean’s family is very thankful for the loving care and support provided by Naana Hayes.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9th at Louck’s Funeral Home in Ellenville. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 10th at Fantinekill Cemetery, Route 209, Ellenville, NY.
