Richard "Dick" Eck

May 10, 1941 — April 15, 2017

Richard “Dick” Eck, of Ellenville, a retired Crane Operator for VAW Aluminum, died on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Hospital. He was 75.

Dick was born in Ellenville, to John Ferninand Eck and Anna Geiselhart Eck on May 10, 1941.

Dick was a lifelong member of the Wawarsing Sportsman Club, Noonday Club and Elks Lodge #1971.

Dick was married to the former Jane Martin Eck for 57 years, she survives him along with their four daughters: Kim Eck (Damien), Elizabeth Jones (Woodrow), Carol Yonker (Michael) and Joy Giammichele (AJ); Dick was Poppy to his seven grandchildren: Lindsay, Nicholas, Vincent, Woodrow, Steven, Joseph and Jillian; he also has five great-grandchildren: Caleb, Bella, Arianna, Nicholas and Hailey along with many nieces and nephews, he is also survived by his sisters Elizabeth Briggs and Patricia Silva and he was a Godfather to Hailey and Kelsey Brilggs, George Eck and Barbara Silva. He is predeceased by his sister Dorothy Bradford.

In lieu of flowers donations in Dick’s name can be made to the Hunt Memorial Preservation Committee, P.O. Box 719, Ellenville, NY 12428.

There will be condolences offered at Loucks Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 from 7 to 9pm. A private burial will take place at Fantinekill Cemetery.
