Richard Edward Hinkley passed away peacefully at his home in Pine Bush, NY, on May 24, 2024. He was born on March 12, 1935, in Fallsburg, NY; to the late Edward and Cora Mae Hinkley.


Richard bravely served in the United States Air Force During the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1956. He was assigned to the 68th Fighter Interceptor Squadron during his military service. Apart from his dedicated service to his country, Richard had a passion for cars and music. He was a self-taught musician who could skillfully play the guitar, banjo, and piano. His love for music led him to become a talented Country Singer. 

Richard worked as a Truck Driver for Myron Lumber and was highly respected in his profession.
 

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Martha E. Hinkley, son, Paul Hinkley, daughter, Matilda Sewell, siblings Kathleen “Katie” Moshier, Laura Towne, Jesse Hinkley, Edith Perry, Edwina “Winnie” Montanye, Nancy Wyble, Charles Hinkley and Alice Hinkley. 
 
He is survived by his son, Robert "Bobby" Hinkley and brother, David Hinkley. Richard's presence will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews who adored him and affectionately called him “Unc.”
 
Services will be held at the Orange County Veteran’s Cemetery at a date to be announced.
