Robert "Bobby" Vasquez

Robert "Bobby" Vasquez, of Ellenville, passed away on Thursday, January 07, 2016 in Kingston, NY. He was 77.

 

He was the son of the late Anthony Vasquez and Helen Goodman, and raised by his beloved step-mother Elsie Vasquez. He was born on September 13, 1938 in Bronx, NY.

 

Bobby served this country in the U.S. Air Force from 1957 until 1961. He was the owner and operator of Bobby V's Restaurant in Ellenville, and retired as Vice President of Ellenville National Bank. Bobby was well known to be a people person who was always willing to lend a helping hand. In his free time he enjoyed cooking and entertaining friends and family, as well as traveling to Lake George. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to all that knew him. He will be sorely missed.

 

Bobby leaves behind to cherish his memory his husband and partner of 39 years, Douglas Rowles, at home; his children: Victoria Kolvenbach and her husband, Douglas, of Montgomery, Richard Vasquez and his wife, Heather, of Pine Bush, and Peter Vasquez and his companion, Stacie, of Montgomery; his eight grandchildren: Danielle Mann and her husband, Gary, of Wurtsboro, Kristopher Kolvenbach and his companion, Heather, of Montgomery, Peter and Valerie Vasquez of Kingston, Richard Vasquez and his companion, Sydney, of Pine Bush, Brittany and Alexander Vasquez of Pine Bush and Jayden Jackson of Montgomery; his great-grandchildren: Isabelle, Owen and Ethan Mann; his siblings: John Vasquez of West Sand Lake, Michael Vasquez of Florida, and Carmen Vasquez of Texas; and his canine companions Mikey and Willie. Bobby is predeceased by his granddaughter Gabrielle Vasquez.

 

Donations in Robert's name can be made to a charity of one's choice.

 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 from 1-5pm at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 N. Main St. Ellenville, NY 12428. A funeral service will take place at 5pm on Tuesday at the funeral home. Rev. Raymond Younger officiating.
