Ronald H. Gorr of Napanoch passed away Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Mountain View Nursing Home. He was 79.
He was the son of the late Harry and Elsie Werlau Gorr born on June 26, 1936 in Callicoon, NY.
He worked at Channel Master for ten years prior to starting his own ice cream business known as THE TWIST KING for 48 yrs. He opened Twist King back in 1967 and owned it until today. He was an avid bowler, golfer and Yankee fan. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was the type of guy to give the shirt off his back. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather that will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Rachel Gorr; his children: Ronald Gorr and his significant other, Laura Schmidt, Beth Hornbeck and her significant other, Steven Giano, Jacqueline Duarte, Susan Kellogg and her husband, Nathaniel, Carol Hall, Billy Gorr and his wife, Susan, and Daniel Gorr and his wife, Jennifer; 15 grandchildren and five great grandchildren; his sister, Jean Manges and her husband, Jerome; dear friend, Jim Hornbeck, and his trusted canine companion, Cody. He was predeceased by his brother, John "Jack" Gorr.
A memorial is scheduled for Thursday, October 1st from 3-7pm at the Napanoch Fire House, 25 Plank Rd., Napanoch, NY.
