Rosemarie Morgan of Phillipsport, NY passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023 at Vassar Brothers Hospital. She was 73 years old. Rosemarie was born on July 16, 1949 in Kingston, NY; she was the daughter of Granvel and Marie (Rose) Miller.

 

Rosemarie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She married Kenneth R. Morgan, Sr. on January 1, 1970 at the Phillipsport Methodist Church. She worked as a Cashier and Sales Clerk in Ellenville at various grocery stores and pharmacies. More recently, Rosemarie worked as the Assistant Manager at a gas station/convenience store in Bloomingburg.

 

Rosemarie was very active within the community. She was a member of the Ellenville Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for 20 years. She joined the Summitville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary in 1982 and was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary where she served as President for 8 years.

 

Rosemarie was predeceased by her sister, Marilda Ward and her brother, Warren Miller.

 

In addition to her husband Kenneth, Rosemarie is survived by their children, Kenneth R. Morgan Jr. and Patricia Songayllo and her husband Eric; granddaughter, Julia Songayllo; sisters, Joan Sojka and her husband Arthur, Cherrell J. Hill and her husband Nelson, Ora L. Britton and her husband James and her sister-in-law Merry Miller.

 

Memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm with a funeral service beginning at 3:30 pm on Saturday, April 1st at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 Main Street, Ellenville NY. 

 

Contributions may be made in Rosemarie’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
