Salvatore Charles Nicosia of Napanoch passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Heath Alliance Hospital. He was 71.
He was the son of the late Angelo and Anna Cotroneo Nicosia, born on June 18, 1945 in Brooklyn, New York.
Sal proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was the owner and operator of the Shanley Hotel in Napanoch, NY. He and the Shanley Hotel were featured in many paranormal shows, books, and magazines. He loved the history of the hotel and the surrounding area, and enjoyed meeting people from all over the world that visited the hotel. Sal was liked by all who knew him. He had the most generous and loving heart and touched many lives with his presence. His family and friends will always be thankful for the gift that was his life.
He is survived by his fiance Teresa Abril, his sons; Sal Nicosia and Joseph Nicosia, brother Louis Nicosia and grandchildren; Nicholas, Anthony, Joseph, Christopher, and Haden. Teresa's children; Miguel Martire (Samantha), Luis Abril (Maria), Nanci Lazdauskas (Mike), and Brandon Abril as well as her grandchildren Mackenzie, Brooke, Brandon Jr, Luis III, Austin, Miguel Jr, Mikey Jr, and Chloe. He is predeceased by his late wife Sara Mae "Jean" and his brother Thomas Nicosia.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 8, 2016 at Loucks Funeral Home 79 North Main Street, Ellenville, NY 12428, from 2-4:00 pm & 7-9:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery 4242 State Route 52, Youngsville, NY.
