Sandra DeJesus

Sandra DeJesus of Ellenville, NY passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Putnam Hospital. She was 70 years old. Sandra was born on August 31, 1951 in Manhattan, NY; she was the daughter of the late Santiago DeJesus and Guadelupe (Lamberty-Rosario) DeJesus.

Sandra attended the New York Fashion Institute of Technology. She belonged to Narcotics Anonymous where she helped many people struggling with addiction. She also worked as a Counselor for Samaritan Village. Sandra was always taking care of everyone around her putting her needs aside. Her home was a gathering place where everyone was welcome, the door was always open. She will be deeply missed and forever loved by her sons, Christian Pickel (Marie) and Harold Pickel (Kayla); her brother, Gary DeJesus; her sister, Diana Hansard (Diana’s daughter Adrienne); five grandchildren, Darius Grant, Eli Pickel, Noah Pickel, Jaiana Pickel and Marisa Pickel; two great grandchildren, Johan Dior Grant and Arian Legend Grant as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Sandra was predeceased by her brother Dennis DeJesus.

A memorial gathering will be held at a future date.
