Scott Bennett

May 14, 1956 — February 6, 2017

Scott “Squeaky” Bennett a lifelong resident of Ellenville, NY, passed away suddenly early Monday, February 6th 2017 at the Ellenville Regional Hospital at the age of 60.  Squeaky was born on May 14th 1956 to the late Frank and Ruth Bennett.

 

Squeaky was an avid fisherman and hunter who enjoyed going to the hunting cabin with friends. He was a former Corrections Officer for the Eastern Correctional Facility and had also worked for several local businesses including, Freskeeto, Duso and the Nevele to name a few. Being involved in the community was very important to him, whether it was volunteering with the Pioneer Fire Co. where he was a longtime member and past president or helping out someone in need regardless of who you were. A friend, a father figure to many and a beloved member of our community, Squeaky will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

 

He is survived by his sons, Brice Bennett and his girlfriend Ashley of Ellenville, David Bennett of Las Vegas, NV, Brett Milligan of Napanoch and Gordon "Little Man" Travis of Ellenville as well as many others his life touched; his brothers, Terry Bennett and his wife Maryann of Bloomingburg and Kevin Bennett and his wife Pat of Ulster Heights as well as many friends.

 

In addition to his parents, Scott was predeceased by his brother Thomas Bennett.

 

Memorial visitation will be held at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 N. Main Street, Ellenville, NY from 2:00-4:00 PM & 7:00-9:00 PM on Friday, February 17th 2017 with a firematic service beginning at 7:00 PM. A continuation in the celebration of his life will follow at the Pioneer Engine Co. on Friday, February 17th 2017 from 4:00-6:00 PM and resuming at 9:00 PM.

 

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made directly to his family.
