Steve F. Jurta

Steve Frederick Jurta of Napanoch passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Ellenville Regional Hospital. He was 67.

               He was the son of the late Steve and Florence J. Thielicke Jurta, born on September 23, 1948 in the Bronx, NY.

               Steve proudly served our county in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a dedicated member to St. Marks Methodist Church for over 30 years. He was a member and past Master of the Wawarsing Masonic Lodge # 582 and member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #253. For many years he worked at Access Rehabilitation Center. He enjoyed working with plants and gardening. Steve was a very generous man; he donated too many different organizations. He will truly be missed by his family and friends. 

               He is survived by his sister, Ruth F. Quick of Wawarsing, his nieces and nephews Bruce D. Quick and his wife Sally of Liberty, Jenniffer Wojcik and her husband Edward of Georgia, Barbara Gibson and her significate other Jason Wallace of Wawarsing, Courtney Quick and her significate other Sydney Alexander of Wawarsing and a host of great nieces and nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister Barbara George, nephew Daniel Quick and brother-in-law Bruce Quick.

               Visitation will be on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Loucks Funeral Home from 2-4:00pm and 7-9:00pm with an Order of the Eastern Star and Masonic Service at 7:30pm. Visitation will also be on Friday, April 15, 2015 at the funeral home from 10-11:30am. A funeral service will be at St. Marks Methodist Church, 68 Clinton St, Napanoch, NY 12458 at 12:00 noon, followed by interment at Fantinekill Cemetery.

               Donations in Steve’s name can be made to St. Marks United Methodist Church 68 Clinton St, Napanoch, NY 12458.
