Vivian Pierce

Vivian Pierce of Highland, NY passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025. She was 93 years old.

Vivian was one of six children. She was born in Plymouth, NC on February 2, 1932 to Richard and Willie Jane Sutton. She married Fred Pierce in North Carolina in 1958 and they spent a majority of their life together in Mount Vernon, NY. Vivian lived in Highland, NY for the last five years, and was the last of her siblings.

Vivian was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Fred; and all her brothers and sisters: Virgie Jeter (Charles), Kneronios Sutton, Hiwatha Sutton, Velma Sutton, and Frederick Sutton.

She is survived by her nephew, Kenneth Jeter (Ernestine) of Norfolk, VA; nephew, Charles Jeter (Rhonda) of Middletown, NY; Nephew, Michael Jeter (Tracy) of Ellenville; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Christ Ministries Baptist Church, 5 Market St., Ellenville, NY on Saturday, May 24 from 10 – 11 AM. A funeral service will take place at 11 AM followed by burial at Fantinekill Cemetery.
