William Murdock

William Murdock of Ellenville, NY, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2016. He was 94 years old. William was born on December 25, 1921 in Spring Valley, NY; he was the son of Michael and Anna (Minetic) Murdock.

William was a veteran of the United States Army having served during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1945. Following his discharge he married the love of his life Doris Dailey Murdock on January 27, 1946 in Spring Valley. Doris passed away in 2014. William was a member of the Laborer’s Union, Local 17 in Newburgh, NY.  He was an honorary member of the Ulster Heights Rod and Gun Club and a communicant of St. Mary and St. Andrew’s Church.

In addition to his wife Doris, William was predeceased by his brother George Murdock and his grandson, Michael C. Murdock .

William is survived by his children, Robert Murdock of Bradenton, FL, Karen Snyder of The Villages, FL and Allan Murdock and his wife Pat of Ellenville; his brother, John Murdock and sister-in-law Trudy of Spring Valley; his grandchildren, Carolyn Castaldo and husband James, Christina Hallatt,  Michael Murdock and wife, Cindy, and Jennifer Young and husband Richard; great grandchildren, Gabriella Evans, Jack Weber, Michael Murdock, Olivia Weber, Emily Conklin, Ian Hallatt, Mason Murdock, Makenzie Young and Trevor DeMott.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 27th at 10:30 am at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 N. Main St., Ellenville. Friends are invited to gather at 9:30 am at the funeral home. Burial of his ashes with military honors will immediately follow at Fantinekill Cemetery.
