William M. Reilly, Sr., of Ellenville, NY, passed away peacefully at NY Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital on December 4, 2025 with his family by his side, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Bill was born in Miami, FL on November 24, 1946 to Martin W. Reilly and Edna Boylan. Bill served honorably in the United States Army from 1966-1969. He served in Viet Nam (1967-1969) in the 1st Cavalry Division. After his service, Bill moved to Ellenville, NY. He was an avid outdoorsman and athlete. One of his most notable accomplishments was completing the “Turkey Grand Slam” alongside his friends, Lou and Otto.
Bill was a police officer in the Village of Ellenville, where he completed 26 years of service. In the later years of his career, he served the Village as a detective, before retiring in 1997. Upon his retirement, Bill worked as a security officer for the Ellenville Central School District. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Janina; his sons, William Reilly, Jr. (Jennifer), Kyle Reilly, and Shawn Reilly; he was a loving grandfather to Madeleine Reilly and Camden Reilly; he is also survived by many cousins and friends.
