Woodrow D. Jones, Sr.

Woodrow Jones, of Ellenville, a retired correctional officer for Eastern Correctional Facility. passed away peacefully at home on May 10, 2025 with his loving wife by his side.

Woodrow was born in September 1948 to Woodrow and Corrine Jones.

In his youth, Woodrow was an avid ball player, proudly playing for the MA Finleys and Monhams. His love for sports carried into his later years, where he found joy in golf, hunting, and fishing alongside many good friends.

Woodrow is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Elizabeth Eck-Jones; his children, Cierra Pugn and Woodrow T. Jones (Alyson); and his cherished grandchildren, Easton, Nathan, and Charlotte. He also leaves behind his brothers, Tom Jones (Laura) and Vinnie Jones (Carol), along with many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, and his sister, Jackie Smith.

A burial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
