Yvonne Zenobia

Yvonne Zenobia of Ellenville passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, October 24, 2017. She was 98.

She was the daughter of the late Joseph R. and Blondine Vachand McKinney, born on October 3, 1919 in Canada.

Yvonne was an active member of her community owning and operating her own business for over 20years “Yvonne Beauty Shop”. She was a past member of the Pioneers Ladies Auxiliary, and past member of the Ulster County Sportsman Association. On her free time she enjoyed camping, gardening, fishing, hiking, knitting, reading and puzzles. In 1950 she became a naturalized citizen to the United States. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all that knew and loved her she will be deeply missed.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son Robert McConnell and his companion Lucille, and his children Jennifer (Robert), Colleen (John), R. Seth (Elisa), her daughter Phoebe Perry and her husband Michael, and their children Sarah (Joshua), Michael and Alex, her dear friends Sister Maria Lopez and Arthur Lee Grant, Yvonne’s stepsons Mark Hoag and his wife Dr. Andrea Hoag, Matthew Hoag and Ernie Hoag, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

She was predeceased by her first husband Robert McConnell, her second husband Ernest Zenobia, her daughter Marie McConnell, her daughter-in-law Alise Cokelette McConnell, her siblings Joseph McKinney and Marie Cohen and her loving cat Murphy.

There will be a memorial visiting on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Loucks Funeral Home 79 North Main Street, Ellenville NY 12428 from 10-11:00am. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers donations in Yvonne’s name can be made to the American Cancer Society P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
