David K. Barnes

June 16, 1956 — February 26, 2021

David Keith Barnes of Kerhonkson, New York suddenly passed away on Friday, February 26, 2021. He was 64 Years old. David was born on June 16, 1956 in Hackensack, New Jersey; he was the son of the late Arthur Chapman Barnes Jr. and Evelyn Virginia (Roberts) Barnes. 

 

David grew up in Ellenville, NY and attended Ellenville High School. He worked as an Associate Real Estate Broker for over 20 years; most recently with Coldwell Banker Village Green Realty, formerly with Flemming Realty and Century 21 Cherrytown Associates. David was recently honored for making the International President’s Circle, a Coldwell Banker award. David was known as Barnes Central. He was the hub of the family unit; an avid lover of music who treasured spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed baseball, traveling, hiking, kayaking, Canasta, Pinochle and Poker. In his younger years he was a member of Scoresby Hose Hook and Ladder.

 

David will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his wife Lorraine Ann (Rose) Barnes whom he married on March 5, 1977; their daughters: Debra Ann (Barnes) Chase (Robert Kennedy) and her children, Adam Eugene Chase Jr. and Tucker Benjamin Chase; their father Adam Chase Sr., Stacey Lynn Barnes (Benjamin Debrosky) and their children, Hunter James Debrosky and Ava Kamira Debrosky; siblings: Arthur Chapman Barnes III (Blanca), Jeanette Aileen (Barnes) Mulz (Thomas) and Eric John Barnes (Jean); nieces and nephews: Jennifer Crown, Christopher Barnes (Kristen), Jason Barnes (Dawn Hyde), Jessica Cwynar (Andrew), Lauren Mulz (Cassie Darnell), Matthew Barnes (Chelsea) and Andrew Barnes (Olivia DeVoe) and his mother-in-law Marie A. (Tompkins) Rose.

 

In addition to his parents, David is predeceased by his brother, Kevin James Barnes and his sister, Kathleen Debra Barnes. 

 

Tentatively a private viewing will be held at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 N. Main St., Ellenville on Thursday, March 11, 2021 from 10AM – 12PM with public socially distanced graveside service immediately following at Fantinekill Cemetery.
