Mary Ellen Vaughan

Mary Ellen Vaughan a longtime resident of Ellenville, NY and more recently Altavista, VA, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Lynchburg Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was 96 years old. Mary was born on November 25, 1923 in Glasgow, Scotland; she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Winnifred (McTierney) Vaughan.

Mary had worked as an Inspector for Imperial Schrade for over 47 years and was a communicant of St. Mary and St. Andrew’s Church. She retired to Virginia with her brother where she lived for the past 18 years and attended St. Thomas More Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her twin siblings, John and Elizabeth Vaughan; sisters, Julie Baxter and Annie McGuiness and her brothers, Thomas Vaughan, Daniel Vaughan, James Vaughan and Michael Vaughan.

Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Visiting will be held on Saturday, February 8th from 9:30am to 10:30am at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 N. Main St., Ellenville, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated that morning at 11:00am at St. Mary and St. Andrews Church. Burial will follow in Fantinekill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Mary’s name to St. Mary and St. Andrews Church, 137 S. Main St., Ellenville.
