Orlando Callejas

Orlando Callejas of Ellenville, NY, passed away in the comfort of his home on Tuesday, July 13, 2021. He was 75 years old. Orlando was born on January 5, 1946 in Bello, Colombia; he was the son of Manuel and Anna (Duque) Callejas.

Mr. Callejas was the owner of Orlandos Market, the Neighborhood Grocery & Delicatessen for many years. He was also a landlord providing affordable housing to the neighborhood. Orlando had a heart of gold and was always willing to help others in need. He supported the local community as well as Ellenville Hospital. Orlando was a great husband, father and humanitarian who will be deeply missed by his wife of 45 years Nelly (Espinal) Callejas and his son, Alexander Callejas.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 19th from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 5:00 pm at St. Mary and St. Andrew’s Church, 137 S. Main St. Ellenville. Cremation will be private.
